Frequently Asked Questions - Indirect lighting
Indirect lighting
ARSTYL® polyurethane mouldings are opaque by nature and IL cornices from the WALLSTYL® range are made opaque by a manufacturing process. For the WT4, WT3 and W1 profiles, you will need an aluminium reflective strip (link: https://noel-marquet.be/en/products/reflexion-band/) to have an opaque profile.
The LED clips are used to adapt cornices to indirect lighting (Z16 - Z1220 - Z20 - AD23 - AD22). It is recommended to fix 5 clips every 2 meters to ensure that the aluminium rail and the LED strip are properly supported. For more details on the installation of the LED clips, please consult our installation instructions https://noel-marquet.be/wp-content/uploads/Installation_Instructions_Arstyl_LED_Clips_DE_EN_ES_FR_IT_NL_PT.pdf
For horizontal installation, LED strip systems that offer easy connection angles should be used. In this way, a uniform light pattern is also created in the corner area and mechanical damage to the light strip is avoided. Ready-made corners are also available for vertical installation.
The indirect lighting profiles themselves are water resistant. If you wish to install your profiles in a damp environment, you should ensure that you get water-resistant LEDs/transformers.
The visible parts of the profiles are primed and ready to paint. In the case of the IL10/IL11/IL12 profiles, however, please pay attention to the diffuser and the grooves to fit it.
For the installation of LEDs, preferably contact your electrician or the LED manufacturer.
The recommendation is subject to the discretion of the LED manufacturer.
The temperature resistance of the profiles is +70°C, therefore it is important to ensure that the LED temperature does not exceed 70°C.
The more LEDs per metre, the less you will see the light spots. The diffuser provides an even, indirect and glare-free distribution of light.
The diffuser is made of ABS with an OPAL finish.
To give you the opportunity to integrate LEDs according to your wishes and needs, we do not sell lighting systems.
Suitable power supplies for LED strips are direct current sources (exact voltage in volts). The wattage must always be higher than the total wattage of the strip to be installed! Example: • LED: 9,6 W/meter • Total length: 5 meters • Power: 9,6 x 5 = 48 Watt, rounded up to 50 W. The transformer should be selected with the next higher wattage; in the example, 70 W. Always observe the technical specifications of the LED strip and the manufacturer.
There is enough space at the back of the profiles to hide the cable. The position of the transformer will depend on its size and shape and the lighting profile used. Contact an electrician to see what the best solution is for you.
The choice of LED will depend on the colour, the number of watts and the effect you want to achieve, as well as the room in which the lighting profiles will be installed. Due to the many possibilities and the rapid evolution of this technology, we recommend that you discuss your project with a lighting expert. For lighting profiles with integrated diffuser(IL10, IL11, IL12, IL10 BLACK, IL11 BLACK und IL12 BLACK), we recommend using LED strips with a minimum of 120 LEDs per metre.
